The objectives that the PATTERN project aims to meet are as follows: 

1. Incorporate Innovative Technologies: The project aims to incorporate innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence and data analytics, to enhance road infrastructure management practices and drive efficiency in urban mobility solutions.
2. Execute a Commercial Strategy: PATTERN seeks to execute a commercial strategy that aligns with the smart specialisation of strategies of Greece, Malta, Italy and Croatia. This involves developing a business case for the proposed SaaS platform and preparing a proposal for a large-scale pilot project funded through ERDF, INTERREG, or similar schemes.
3. Develop a Pilot Project: The project aims to develop a comprehensive plan for ERDF funding of a pilot project that implements the SaaS platform services. This includes a digital twin of the Maltese road infrastructure, increasing efficiency and safety of roads, and reducing the carbon footprint of the transport infrastructure in Malta. Simital digital twins will also be planned for Greece and Croatia, with the deployment of the SaaS platform open to all EU member states.
