Foundation for Research and
Technology Hellas (FORTH)
State R&D Centre. FORTH is home to ten major Research Institutes. Beyond its ground-breaking contributions to Information and Telecommunications Technologies in Greece, FORTH collaborates with universities, researcher centres, and other organisations at both national and international levels through European and global R&D programmes. This cooperation fosters the exchange of scientific ideas and facilitates the creation and transfer of new technologies. FORTH’s research directions are aligned with the latest international trends, technological challenges, and the needs of both the public and private sectors in Greece. Additionally, FORTH represents Greece in the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM), an organisation dedicated to advancing European research and development in information technology and applied mathematics. FORTH plays an important role in the PATTERN project by providing technical leadership in the development and integration of innovative technologies for the SaaS platform. FORTH contributes to innovation development, particularly in enhancing components like the MARVdash dashboard, which enables domain experts to interact with platform resources without requiring in-depth knowledge of lower-level tools and interfaces. The organisation collaborates with partners and stakeholders to facilitate knowledge exchange, ensures quality assurance of innovations, and engages in dissemination activities to share project outcomes effectively.

FBK actively collaborates with project partners fostering knowledge sharing, shapes commercialisation strategies, manages intellectual property rights, and facilitates technical integration of anonymisation algorithms within the project, enhancing its technological capabilities and impact.
GreenRoads (GRN)
Greenroads envisions an environmentally responsible and proactive society where clean air and peaceful streets are the norm. Greenroads has developed an AI-powered solution to make transportation infrastructure smarter, safer, and more sustainable. Our mission is to help cities make better decisions about how to allocate resources and plan for the future of transportation. Greenroads’ AI platform uses video analytics and analyses traffic data, to gather meaningful information from standard internet-connected cameras. This software can be used to understand the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, giving urban planners and road operators a new data source to understand demands on infrastructure, identify areas of congestion, and measure the impact of transportation policies.
The solution is programmed in a way that makes it easy to use as a stand alone or to plug in other transport systems, digital twins or road design software. Its cloud-based scalability and use of existing cameras makes it easy for cities to own the building blocks of smart cities of the future and better serve the needs of citizens. Within PATTERN, Greenroads leads the technical innovation and development of the data pipeline driven by AI. While actively collaborating with partners, Greenroads’s role is to provide data analytics leadership, offer technical expertise and support, and drive innovation scaling for impactful solutions in smart city environments.
