VideoAnony: Real-Time Video Anonymization for GDPR-Compliant Traffic Monitoring

This video showcases VideoAnony, an AI-powered component developed within the PATTERN project to anonymize live video streams by automatically detecting and blurring faces and vehicle license plates in real time.

Integrated into the PATTERN platform, VideoAnony enables GDPR-compliant traffic monitoring and video analytics while protecting personal privacy. VideoAnomaly: AI-Powered Traffic Anomaly Detection

This video demonstrates VideoAnomaly, an advanced AI component developed within the PATTERN project to automatically detect and analyse unusual events in traffic footage.

Using state-of-the-art vision-language and large language models, VideoAnomaly enables operators to identify events such as jaywalking, emergency vehicle passages, and potential collisions through simple natural language prompts. The system provides anomaly scores, timestamps, and explainable descriptions, helping users quickly understand what happened and when.

Integrated into the PATTERN platform through MARVdash, VideoAnomaly supports smarter, safer, and more efficient road infrastructure management through AI-driven video analytics.

MARVdash: Simplifying AI Service Deployment on Kubernetes

This video demonstrates MARVdash, the cloud-native dashboard used within the PATTERN project to simplify the deployment, management, and monitoring of containerized services on Kubernetes.

Through an intuitive web interface, MARVdash enables users to launch services, manage files, deploy templates, monitor performance, and access logs without requiring advanced Kubernetes expertise. The platform supports secure multi-user environments, GPU resource sharing, and seamless integration with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki.

FBK Technologies: VideoAnony & VideoAnomaly

This video showcases two AI-powered technologies developed by FBK and integrated into the PATTERN platform:

  • VideoAnony – a real-time video anonymization tool that automatically detects and blurs faces and vehicle license plates to ensure GDPR-compliant processing of traffic footage.
  • VideoAnomaly – an AI-based anomaly detection tool that identifies unusual traffic events through natural language prompts, providing timestamps, anomaly scores, and explainable descriptions.

 

Together, these technologies enable privacy-preserving traffic monitoring and intelligent analysis, supporting safer, smarter, and greener road infrastructure.

CATFlow: Real-Time Traffic Monitoring and Analytics

This video showcases CATFlow, a computer vision solution developed by Green Roads Limited and integrated into the PATTERN platform for real-time traffic monitoring and analysis.

CATFlow automatically detects and tracks pedestrians and multiple vehicle types, including cars, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, and heavy goods vehicles. By processing live camera streams, the system generates anonymous traffic data such as vehicle counts, speeds, trajectories, and movement patterns, supporting data-driven decision-making for road infrastructure management.

The collected data is visualized through key performance indicators (KPIs) and statistics, providing valuable insights into traffic flow while preserving privacy.

Malta Trial Platform – Real-World Traffic Analytics in Action

This video demonstrates the PATTERN Malta Trial Platform, showcasing how AI-powered services were deployed and tested using real-world traffic data collected from key road intersections across Malta.

The platform combines VideoAnony, CATFlow, VideoAnomaly, MARVdash, Kafka, and cloud infrastructure to provide privacy-preserving traffic monitoring, anomaly detection, and traffic analytics. During the Malta trial, anonymized camera streams were processed in real time to generate traffic insights, detect unusual events, and visualize key performance indicators through an intuitive dashboard.
