Dear PATTERN Community,
Recently the PATTERN project hit the road – first hosting a workshop in Zagreb, then showcasing AI-driven traffic monitoring and smart infrastructure solutions at the Intertraffic Expo in Amsterdam. These events brought together researchers, policymakers, and industry experts to exchange knowledge, explore partnerships, and advance sustainable, intelligent transport systems across Europe.
PATTERN in the Intertraffic Expo
Between 10-13 March 2026, PATTERN took part in the Intertraffic Expo in Amsterdam. The Intertraffic Expo is one of the world’s leading events for smart mobility, infrastructure, traffic management and road safety. All these principles align with the PATTERN project, making this a great fit for the project to gain exposure.
This 3-day long expo allowed us to discuss, network and exchange knowledge with experts and innovators shaping the future of the intelligent transport system. PATTERN’s partners were there to explain more about how we are working to advance AI-driven traffic monitoring and smarter road infrastructure solutions. This led to a connection with researchers, industry professionals, policymakers and innovators throughout the days.
Moreover, the PATTERN project was presented at the Infra Stage, and our partners explained how innovative technologies can support smarter and more efficient road infrastructure. The project partners – Manos Papoutsakis, from FORTH and Claire Ciancio from Greenroads, shared insights from the project. They also highlighted how advanced data analytics and AI-driven solutions can contribute to improved traffic monitoring, better infrastructure management and more sustainable mobility systems.
Events like the Intertraffic Expo in Amsterdam, provide valuable opportunities to share and exchange insights with experts, policymakers and industry leaders. Together, let’s all work towards the future of intelligent transport and road infrastructure.
PATTERN’s workshop in Croatia
On February 13th 2026, the PATTERN project hosted a workshop in the Technology Park Zagreb, Croatia to discuss the project’s goals, technology, methodologies and outcomes.
During this four-hour workshop, partners got together to discuss ongoing strategies for technology transfer, knowledge sharing and practices from Pattern to local contexts in Croatia. Local government representatives, academic institutions, business leaders and entrepreneurs, and stakeholders in sustainability and innovation sections were invited to discuss the project’s findings.
As our project aims to foster innovation, collaboration and sustainable practices, this workshop acted as a pillar in presenting the project’s findings and explored potential partnerships in Croatia, whilst focusing on the transfer of knowledge and best practices.
A variety of material has been presented and group discussions were shared on how PATTERN can continue to be a success. Follow us along for more!
